Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at K-12 schools, colleges, or university campuses. You will maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff.

No advanced education is required; on-the-job training is provided. The position is on-site with a supportive team, and ABM encourages veterans and candidates with military experience to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience (preferred).
• One (1) year of prior similar work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for repairs or additions to building systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
