Job summary

The Coupeville School District is seeking a Custodian for the upcoming school year to maintain district facilities in a clean, safe state. Duties include prepping classrooms, restrooms and offices, daily cleaning, and reporting repairs to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Hours are generally 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with shifts outside times when facilities are not needed by students. The role requires physical ability and a valid WA driver’s license, with compensation per the CESA

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a custodian and general knowledge of custodial procedures.
• General knowledge of safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to chest height and push/pull up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with others.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare classrooms, restrooms, and offices for fall operations.
• Clean facilities and secure areas before leaving each day.
• Observe and report required repairs to the supervisor.
• Maintain and clean tools and equipment.
• Clean exterior windows and district buildings during summer.
• Follow safety procedures on all tasks.
• Maintain entryways and outdoor areas clean and safe.
• Move furniture for deep cleaning during breaks.
• Unlock/secure facilities for public use as scheduled.
