Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking a School-Based Custodian II for Haynie Elementary in Morrow, GA. The role starts immediately and pays $16.79 to $17.71 per hour, with a 225-day, Grade 13 schedule. Responsibilities include cleaning, equipment operation, inventory, and event setup.

Minimum one year of experience preferred; HS diploma or GED required; English fluency essential. Offshore duties may include on-call scenarios; locational hours span school days and weather variations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, write, and read English fluently.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in commercial facility cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans classrooms, restrooms, offices, dining areas; mops floors, vacuums, strips floors, buffs and wax floors, empties trash; cleans windows; picks up trash on school grounds as required/directed; changes light bulbs, replaces ceiling tiles, moves furniture, removes graffiti, and secures building upon daily departure.
• Operates various commercial custodial equipment (scrubber, buffer, commercial vacuum cleaner, ladder, wet vacuum, shampoo machine); maintains cleanliness of equipment; sets up/breaks down for events.
• Completes commercial custodial inventory counts and orders supplies as required; maintains cleanliness and organization of custodial closet.
• Assists with District emergencies and/or general assignments as operationally necessary.
• All other duties, as assigned and required, to perform the above services.
