Job summary

MUNDY'S MILL HIGH in Jonesboro, GA, is seeking a Custodian II for a 12-month term. This full-time role reports to the school principal or building designee and starts immediately.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and common areas, operating custodial equipment, preparing spaces for events, and maintaining supplies. The job requires a high school diploma or GED and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to speak, write, and read English fluently.
• Minimum of one year of experience in commercial facility cleaning preferred.
• Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds frequently and one hundred (100) pounds occasionally.
• Walking, standing, kneeling, bending for eight (8) hours per day; must be able to climb a thirty (30) foot ladder and negotiate stairs.

• Operates various commercial custodial equipment (i.e. scrubber, buffer, commercial vacuum cleaner, ladder, wet vacuum, shampoo machine. Maintains cleanliness of custodial equipment. Responsible for the set up/break down for events at the assigned school/location.
• Completes commercial custodial inventory counts, and orders supplies as required. Maintains cleanliness and organization of custodial closet.
• Assists with District emergency and/or general assignments as operationally necessary.
• All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

Familiarity with computer applications (Word, Google email) preferred.

Responsibility for the Welfare of Others: Constant (Daily) - to exercise the duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well‑being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders.

Variable work environment – School grounds, and all buildings; subjected to a wide range of weather conditions and temperatures.

May be on call after normal work hours and in emergency situations (twenty‑four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week).

Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds frequently and one (100) pounds occasionally.

NOTE: This is a Grade 13, 225-day position thatstarts at Step 6 and pays for experience up to Step 8.
