Job summary

Fulton County Schools is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial maintenance and cleaning within school buildings. The role covers cleaning light fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, bleachers, blinds, and stadium seating, and operating floor-care equipment to scrub, buff, and wax surfaces.

The position also involves cleaning and restocking restrooms, preparing for events, moving furniture, maintaining grounds, and responding to staff requests.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and appropriate use of supplies and equipment.
• Ability to operate various equipment used for cleaning floors and carpets.
• Must be able to understand and follow directions both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building and grounds in acceptable condition.
• Clean light fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, bleachers, blinds, and stadiums.
• Scrub, buff, and wax floors with appropriate equipment.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms.
• Prepare for and clean up after events during day or night.
• Move furniture and equipment as directed by head custodian or principal.
• Respond to staff requests in a timely manner.
• Perform minor repairs as required.
• Other duties as assigned by administrator.
