Job summary

Southern Tioga School District is seeking a Custodian at Liberty Elementary School. The role involves general cleaning, maintenance of buildings and grounds, and assisting students, staff, and visitors as needed.

Under supervision of the Principal, Director of Facilities and Business Manager, you will secure buildings, perform routine cleaning, and support events and operations, including snow removal and waste management. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at the beginning and end of shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas per district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstery and blinds.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
• Remove graffiti and clean glass areas.
• Set up and break down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms and functional spaces.
• Clear snow from entrances and walks and spread ice-melting agents.
