Job summary

BRADLEY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Custodian for a 12-month interim position. Under supervision, the custodian will perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds, maintain equipment, and assist students, staff, and visitors as needed. Custodial experience is preferred but not required.

A background check is required. The role includes handling cleaning tasks, basic maintenance, snow/ice management, and assisting with special events in school facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• [TN] Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure the building at the beginning and end of shift to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas per district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors; clean rugs, carpets and blinds; wash walls and windows.
• Receive deliveries and assist in unloading trucks and storing supplies; deliver to classrooms and other areas.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties, clear debris, and assist in recycling program; snow and ice management when needed.
