Job summary

Riddle School District is seeking a qualified Custodian for Riddle Elementary. The full-time position covers 261 days per year, five days a week, eight hours per day, to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of cleaning operations, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly (up to 50 pounds occasionally). The district emphasizes safety and reliability in daily duties.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Basic operations, tools, and terms used in cleaning work.
• Knowledge of cleaning agents, chemicals, and their safe use, and MSDS.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors and vacuums carpets.
• Cleans and dusts walls, furniture, woodwork, and other surfaces.
• Pick up paper and trash on grounds, sweep and remove snow and ice from walks and entrances.
• Wash, scrub, and disinfect rest rooms.
• Clean windows, doors, drinking fountains, clean and disinfect metal work such as handrails, doorknobs, and drinking fountains.
• Empty and clean waste containers.
• Assist in moving/rearranging chairs, tables, desk, furniture, and other equipment.
• Maintain equipment and tools in a clean and orderly manner.
