Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at K-12 and higher-education campuses. Duties include cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices, plus handling trash, spills, and equipment cleaning.

Training is provided, with emphasis on safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates have 18+ years old with no degree required; prior customer service and one year of similar work are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• On-the-job training provided; no high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.
• Preferred: prior customer service experience.
• Preferred: one year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices.
• Sweep, mop floors, remove debris, and clean spills.
• Regularly check and empty trash in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, walls.
• Polish hard surfaces like wood and stainless steel.
• Wipe tabletops and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets and equipment to access clean areas.
