Job description

We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated Custodian to work cooperatively with the Facility Director, Pastor, parish leaders, and other staff members to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our church and school facilities. This role is responsible for custodial and maintenance needs for the parish and school facilities, ensuring a clean overall appearance and safety for the buildings and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Be present and ready to work at scheduled time and days.
• Provide janitorial care of the facility/grounds for the parish and school: offices, entryways, restrooms, worship and meeting spaces, along with outdoor spaces such as snow removal and yard work.
• Set up and take down meeting spaces, ensuring that the people using the spaces have what they need.
• Provide a secure environment for members, visitors and staff; monitor building safety and security.
• Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of all facilities, church and school.
• Address school and parish maintenance or custodial needs as they arise.
• Follow daily cleaning tasks and address additional needs proactively.
• Perform light maintenance, including minor repairs and painting.
• Handle waste disposal and recycling according to established procedures.
• Track and request custodial and maintenance supplies as needed.
• Follow all safety and hazardous material guidelines.
• Support a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors in accordance with Archdiocese standards.
