Job summary

Iberville Parish School Board is seeking a dedicated custodian to maintain a clean and safe school environment. Under the supervision of the Head Custodian, you will perform routine cleaning tasks across classrooms, hallways, restrooms and common areas.

The position is 12 months with standard duties including floor care, window washing, dusting, waste removal and preparation for events. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with knowledge of cleaning methods and good stamina.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment, and ability to use them economically and efficiently.
• Physical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, tasks and duties.
• Additional criteria as the Board may establish.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps and wets and dry mops floors.
• Vacuums and cares for carpeting.
• Washes windows and walls and polishes furniture.
• Cleans restrooms, kitchen area and cafeteria.
• Dusts woodwork, furniture and other articles.
• Picks up paper and debris on grounds.
• Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
• Cleans chalkboards and chalk sills.
• Assists in all summer cleaning and general cleaning as instructed by supervisor.
• Performs any additional duties assigned by superintendent and/or evaluator.
