Job summary

Saginaw ISD is seeking a full-time custodial staff member to assist the facilities team in maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable environment. Duties include cleaning, setup for events, and basic maintenance tasks across offices, restrooms, kitchens, and cafeterias.

The role requires 1–2 years of custodial experience, ability to lift 75 pounds, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to students with disabilities. Drug screen and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of custodial work.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of seventy-five pounds.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working around students with disabilities.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Open and/or close the building for daily functions and operate building security systems.
• Clean assigned areas according to established schedules (offices, restrooms, kitchens, cafeterias).
• Use prescribed methods to perform duties (trash, sweeping, dusting, windows/mirrors).
• Operate equipment such as auto scrubbers, carpet machines, and pressure washers.
• Set up/take down equipment for public events.
• Follow diagrams or instructions accurately.
• Work with computers and handheld devices.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather for seasonal duties.
• Load and unload supplies for the department and shipments.
• Report repairs and enter work orders into CMMS.
• Other duties as assigned by Facilities Director.
