Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 school, college or university campus environment. You will clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other designated areas, following safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• One year of prior similar work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairs.
• Sweep, mop and remove debris in designated areas and respond to spills.
• Empty trash and maintain recycling in designated areas.
• Follow safety and cleaning procedures to protect floors and fixtures.
• Notify supervisors of maintenance or repair needs and communicate with staff.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning tasks.
• Clean interior glass, doors, and mirrors and polish surfaces.
• Maintain restrooms to ensure cleanliness and sanitization.
