Job summary

Gill-Montague Regional School District in Turners Falls, MA is hiring a Custodian for district-wide facilities. The role reports to the Building Principal/Facilities Manager and starts immediately. Mon-Fri 6:00am-2:00pm during the school year, 10 months. Salary ranges $17–$19 per hour, full-time.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and follow oral and written instructions effectively and efficiently.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively and courteously with students, staff, parents, and community members.
• Some experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop and scrub floors, stairs (inside and outside buildings) and other surfaces.
• Use light and heavy (industrial type) floor machines and attachments.
• Scrub, strip, wax and polish floors using heavy (industrial type) powered scrubber and buffers.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas. Shampoo rugs periodically using heavy vacuum cleaner and rug shampooing machine.
• General cleaning and upkeep of the school facilities.
