Job Summary Details:

The School Custodian performs general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior customer service experience
• One (1) year of similar work experience

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors
• Check and empty trash receptacles regularly
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage
• Report repairs or issues to lead cleaner or manager
• Maintain effective communication with clients and team members
• Manage recycling and waste separation
• Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
• Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel
• Wipe down tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning
• Clean interior glass, windows, and mirrors
• Perform seasonal tasks like lawn care, snow removal, etc.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness
• Follow safety, security, and compliance standards
