Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a School Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and functional learning environment. You will inspect areas, perform routine maintenance checks, and handle minor repairs to support daily school operations while coordinating with staff and administrators.

Work year is 12 months with 7.5 hours per day, grade 6, and an attractive benefits package. The role requires a Alaska driver’s license and the ability to access military installations.

Qualifications

Job Summary:

The School Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment within school facilities. Key duties include inspecting assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and operational standards are met, conducting routine maintenance checks, and performing minor repairs. This role involves general cleaning of interior and exterior spaces, addressing routine and emergency maintenance needs, and collaborating with staff and administrators to support school operations. The custodian reports inspection findings to the Custodial Manager and completes various facility-related tasks while working independently to meet daily operational requirements.

New Hire Hourly Rate:

Grade 6: $21.60 - $24.14 DOE

Internal Hourly Rate:

Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement

Work Hours:

7.5 hours per day

Work Year:

12 months
