Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a school custodian in Philadelphia to maintain cleanliness, safety and functionality of facilities within a school district. You will lead a small team, perform routine cleaning, and support classrooms by setting up furniture and equipment.

Requirements include read/write skills, interpersonal ability, willingness to learn, and passing a background check. Physical duties include lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to successfully lead a team of 2-10 people, depending on location.
• Must be a self-starter, motivator, and good listener.
• Lead PEOPLE... and Manage THINGS!
• Perform general cleaning as listed: sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, wax floors, clean restrooms, replenish supplies.
• Move, remove, and set up furniture and equipment inside specified rooms for special functions.
