Job summary

Granite School District in Valley Jr. High is seeking a part-time custodian/maintenance assistant to support daily cleaning and building upkeep. The role focuses on classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas, with responsibilities including securing the building and assisting in grounds and general maintenance.

The position requires basic cleaning skills, the ability to follow directions, and the capacity to work outdoors as needed. Training will be provided for safety and chemical handling.

Qualifications

• Must know how to operate and maintain basic cleaning equipment.
• May perform minor adjustments to equipment.
• Must understand basic use of age appropriate cleaning solvents and their proper application.

Responsibilities

• Assists with routine maintenance of school and district buildings.
• Cleans offices, classrooms, and hallways.
• Fills soap, paper towel, toilet paper and other dispensers.
• May remove graffiti and repair other acts of vandalism.
• Assist in restricting access by locking and unlocking doors.
• Performs other outside maintenance.
• Cleans up garbage, repairs furniture, lockers, doors, and small equipment.
• Involved with security of building after hours.
• Turns on/off security and locks/unlocks the building.
• Performs duties in a manner to maintain an 80% or higher VEKTR inspection.
