Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Custodian at Cottonwood High for an evening shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) with a 30-minute lunch. The position requires reliable attendance, basic cleaning duties, and adherence to district safety standards.

The role includes maintenance of buildings, assisting with security after hours, and coordinating with school administration. One year of custodial experience and a high school diploma are preferred; apply by 10/12/2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year custodial experience.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Assists with routine maintenance of school and district buildings.
• Checks and secures building at start/end of shift.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, sills, touchpoints.
• Maintain, clean, and sanitize restrooms.
• Fills soap, paper towel, toilet paper, and other dispensers.
• Mops or runs auto scrubber.
• Extracts/bonnets carpets.
• Assist with floor refinishing.
• May remove graffiti and repair vandalism.
• Cleans up garbage, repairs furniture, lockers, doors.
• Performs minor repairs as able to windows, doors, switches desk, tables, equipment and appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds, etc.
• May assemble new equipment and furniture.
• Prepare and set up rooms for meetings and activities.
• Maintain swimming pools including chemical maintenance according to outlined standards.
• Helps maintain and operate mechanical systems.
• Assist in restricting access by locking and unlocking doors.
• Involved with security of building after hours.
• Turns on/off security and locks/unlocks the building.
• Attend all required apprenticeship classes and complete demonstrations and competency logs.
• Performs duties in a manner to maintain an 80% or higher VEKTR inspection.
