Job summary

Distinctive Schools in Chicago seeks a Culture Facilitator for Longwood Elementary to supervise grounds, support positive behavior, and reinforce school-wide expectations.

You will collaborate with students, teachers, and administrators to promote social-emotional development, attendance, belonging, and a safe, inclusive climate across all grades. Strong communication with families is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in education or volunteer settings with children.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of restorative justice and positive behavior interventions.
• Ability to analyze behavior and attendance data for interventions.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with diverse student populations and communities.
• Ability to work set schedule based (before, during, or after school).

Responsibilities

• Implement school-wide systems to promote a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
• Foster a culture of respect, responsibility, and community among students and staff.
• Support attendance initiatives and engagement activities.
• Monitor behavior trends and provide interventions.
• Support restorative practices and conflict resolution strategies.
• Partner with families to support behavior, attendance, and engagement.
• Communicate school-wide expectations to families and the school community.
• Serve as a thought partner to staff on social-emotional support for students.
• Supervise students in halls, gatherings, and on school grounds.
• Follow campus safety protocols and code of conduct.
