Job summary

Distinctive Schools in Chicago seeks a Dean of Students to partner with the Principal to maintain a safe, positive learning environment at Longwood Elementary. You will support teachers with classroom management, lead discipline interventions, and help align behavior strategies with district goals.

The role requires managing attendance, reporting on discipline metrics, and coordinating with families to sustain a strong school culture.

Qualifications

• K-12th Grade Education Experience.
• 1 year experience working in urban setting.
• 3-5 years of experience.
• Technology demands: Proficient with cloud based software solutions ( GoogleSuite).

Responsibilities

• Respond to safety and discipline incidents and provide operational support.
• Lead and support the School Culture Team and staff professional development.
• Monitor attendance, prepare monthly reports on suspensions and discipline data.
• Enforce handbook procedures and policies including dress code guidelines.
• Collaborate with leadership and families to improve school climate and student outcomes.
• Support IEP/504 meetings with relevant data and documentation.
