Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools seeks a crossing guard to guide pedestrians safely across streets around school zones. Responsibilities include stopping traffic, escorting students, and coordinating with school staff to ensure student safety during arrival and dismissal times.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, proper attire, and the ability to perform duties with vigilance around traffic hazards and student traffic. A CBC and fingerprinting are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Wear appropriate clothing and a safety vest as required.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting are required for hire.
• Intermediate knowledge of bicycle/pedestrian practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
• Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps for crossing.
• Communicate crossing rules to students and adults.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points.
• Direct traffic movement and warn of hazards using signs, flags, or hand signals.
• Report incidents involving students to the principal.
