Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a crossing guard to manage student safety on streets and school zones. The role involves guiding pedestrians at crosswalks, stopping traffic as needed, and coordinating with school staff to ensure safe passage for students during arrival and dismissal.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a clean background check, and adherence to Colorado DOT rules. Applicants must be able to stand, move, and communicate effectively in varying outdoor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct pedestrians across streets and escort them safely within crosswalks.
• Monitor traffic flow to identify safe crossing gaps for pedestrians.
• Explain traffic and crossing rules to students and adults.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points.
• Direct traffic or warn of hazards using signs, flags, lanterns, and signals.
• Report incidents involving students to the building principal.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disobeying signals and inform supervisors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
