Job summary

The City of Sheboygan is seeking a part-time School Crossing Guard to help children cross streets safely around city schools under supervision. You will be assigned to intersections approved by the Common Council and must maintain a professional appearance and positive demeanor while assisting students.

Requirements include being at least 18, a resident of the city, holding a valid Wisconsin driver's license, the ability to work in all weather, and the capacity to communicate clearly with adults

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and a city resident.
• Must have a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
• Must be able to perform crossings in all weather conditions.
• Must communicate verbally with adults and children.
• No felony or related offenses; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist school children in crossing intersections safely.
• Direct children not to cross when unsafe.
• Maintain orderly traffic flow for pedestrian safety near schools.
• Present a professional appearance and customer care.
• Report safety concerns to the Traffic Sergeant.
