Job description

Position Summary

This position involves public contact with school children, ensuring their safety while walking to and from school. Crossing Guard locations are within the District #205 school system. Regular Crossing Guards work during the morning and afternoon, while Relief Crossing Guards work on an on-call basis to fill in as needed. Training and safety equipment are provided by the City of Elmhurst.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and community relations skills.
• Ability to report road hazards, traffic problems, and safety concerns at student crossing locations.
• Willingness to tolerate various adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
• Ability to work with children.
• Ability to give and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness and ability to travel to various locations within the City of Elmhurst.

Additional Information

Starting wage: $13.50 per hour. Part-time employment during the school season.
