Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a School Counselor to provide educational, career, social, and personal counseling for students under the supervision of the Principal and Vice-Principal.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Counseling or related field and experience in a school setting. Responsibilities include implementing a comprehensive counseling program, coordinating campus guidance, and supporting students’ academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and behavioral development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling or related mental health field (Licensure or certification preferred).
• Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work with courses addressing counseling theories and methods, adolescence psychology, career development, multicultural counseling, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling Catholic teachings.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters and follow safety protocols.
• Provide comprehensive counseling (classroom, individual, small groups, crisis) and coordinate campus guidance.
• Guide students in educational and career planning; attend discipline and academic review meetings as needed.
• Offer consultation to staff and parents to support student development; maintain collaborative relationships with administration and faculty.
• Perform duties aligned with Archdiocese policies and refer to community providers when needed.
