Job summary

Cherokee County Schools Central Office seeks a qualified School Counselor to support students at Peachtree Elementary. The role focuses on personal-social growth, academic planning, and career development for a diverse student population.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a Master’s degree in counseling or equivalent.
  • Must be licensed by the NC Department of Public Instruction in counseling or able to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and evaluate the school counseling program with staff involvement.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to meet student needs.
  • Consult with students, parents, teachers and community to support students’ needs.
  • Coordinate counseling services and support student services within the school.
  • Accurately interpret test results and student data to inform placements.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and participate in professional development.
  • Utilize the LMS for online learning programs and attend trainings.
