Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools - South Avondale ES is seeking a School Guidance Counselor (0.7 FTE) to support students, families, and staff. You will lead a comprehensive counseling program addressing academic, career, and personal/social development, reporting to the Building Principal and the Lead Counselor Specialist.

Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, coordinating individual and group counseling, managing data, liaising with home and community, organizing college and career

Qualifications

• Certification and licensure as School Counselor from Ohio required.
• Must know current counseling techniques and demonstrate effective oral and written communication.
• Exhibits positive interpersonal relationship skills and strong planning/organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and evaluates student progress through transcripts, credits, and tests.
• Maintains student data, data entry, and progression tracking.
• Coordinates individual and group counseling with students, parents, and staff.
• Develops and implements counseling services for the school population and coordinates with outside agencies.
• Acts as liaison between home, school, and community to deliver student services.
• Coordinates college, career, and post-secondary information for the counseling program.
• Participates in Crisis Intervention Team activities and ongoing professional development.
