Career Links is seeking a compassionate Elementary School Counselor to deliver Second Step SEL lessons and foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment in a Naperville elementary school.

The role focuses on social-emotional development, collaboration with teachers and staff, and referrals for students needing additional support. This is a part-time, in-person position with competitive compensation and recruiter support.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counselor Endorsement.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
• Knowledge of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) principles and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom-based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons using the Second Step curriculum.
• Promote student development in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to reinforce SEL concepts throughout the school community.
• Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral growth through preventative and developmental programming.
• Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation as required by the district.
• Participate in team meetings, staff collaboration, and professional development activities.
• Assist in identifying students who may benefit from additional support services and make appropriate referrals.
