  • Monitor student progress and document as required by the district.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff collaboration, and professional development activities.
  • Identify students who may benefit from additional services and refer appropriately.

We are seeking a compassionate and engaging Elementary School Counselor to provide social-emotional learning (SEL) support to elementary-aged students. This position focuses on delivering classroom-based SEL instruction utilizing the Second Step curriculum while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom-based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons using the Second Step curriculum.
  • Promote student development in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to reinforce SEL concepts throughout the school community.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral growth through preventative and developmental programming.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation as required by the district.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff collaboration, and professional development activities.
  • Assist in identifying students who may benefit from additional support services and make appropriate referrals.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counselor Endorsement required.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
