Job summary

Monaro High School in NSW is seeking a qualified School Counsellor to provide counselling and psychological assessment to students, supporting learning and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will be based at Monaro High School and work across primary and high school ages, collaborating with families, teachers and external agencies.

This role includes supervision, professional development and access to travel allowances and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes of children and young people including students from diverse backgrounds and needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment for students.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to support learning and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of student support strategies.
• Participate in supervision and professional development activities.
• Based at Monaro High School and work across primary and high school aged students.
