Job summary

Moree Public School in NSW is seeking a School Counsellor to deliver counselling and psychological assessments for students, supporting learning and wellbeing across primary and high school ages. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, with regular supervision and professional development provided by the department.

The successful candidate will be based at Moree Public School, with opportunities to engage across district school communities and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.
• Be a registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessments of students to complement and enhance teaching.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
• Engage in supervision and professional development as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Travel between worksites as required within NSW public schools.
