Job summary

Dubbo College South Campus is seeking a School Counsellor to join the NSW Department of Education’s Teaching Service. The role focuses on providing counselling and psychological assessment for students, supporting teachers and families to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.

The successful candidate will work across lifespan with primary and high school students and participate in supervision within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes across diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessments to students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to coordinate care and services.
• Engage in regular supervision and participate in professional development and school counselling team activities.
