Job summary

POWER CENTER ACADEMY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL seeks an experienced leader to oversee network-wide school counseling and SEL programming, coach counselors, and ensure compliance and high-quality scholar support. This role involves weekly site visits, data-driven improvement, and close collaboration with the Director of Social Services to align priorities across schools.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in a related field, counseling licensure, 3–5 years in K-12 settings, and strong coaching,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in school counseling, education, psychology, social services, or related field.
• Certification/licensure in school administration and/or school counseling.
• Three to five years of relevant professional experience.
• Significant administrative experience in K-12 education supporting scholars in underserved communities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of school counseling practices and scholar support systems.
• Knowledge of state and federal requirements related to counseling services and mandated reporting.
• Strong coaching, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze data and observations to identify areas for program and staff improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and implement network-wide school counseling and SEL programming for cohesion, quality, and efficiency.
• Implement network strategies related to school counseling and SEL services.
• Support consistent implementation of counseling programs across schools.
• Partner with Director of Social Services to identify program priorities and gaps.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen counseling and SEL services based on scholar and school needs.
• Provide ongoing professional learning and coaching support for School Counselors.
• Conduct weekly site visits to observe services and provide actionable feedback.
• Identify PD needs and support delivery of aligned learning opportunities.
• Promote collaboration and sharing of effective practices among School Counselors.
• Conduct regular file audits to assess documentation and adherence to requirements.
• Monitor implementation of counseling strategies and initiatives across the network.
• Identify gaps and provide targeted support for improvement.
• Maintain confidential handling of scholar information and compliance.
• Collaborate with school and network staff to ensure effective program implementation.
• Build relationships with School Counselors, school leaders, and other scholar-support professionals.
• Track data to evaluate effectiveness and inform adjustments.
