Job summary

Flik Independent School Dining at Fairfield Country Day School in Fairfield, CT is hiring for a full-time Cold Food (Salad) position. The shift runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a school schedule, holidays and summers off, and no weekend work.

You will slice deli meats, cheeses and vegetables, prepare salads and sandwiches, and ensure proper portion control and serving temperatures. Prior salad bar and cold prep experience is required.

Qualifications

• Previous salad bar and cold prep experience required.
• Must follow HACCP and sanitation standards.
• Able to work in a fast-paced school environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain daily production schedule from Chef and prepare cold items.
• Prepare sandwich meats, cheeses, condiments and salads to standard portions.
• Stock and replenish deli/cold products per merchandising guidelines.
• Transport food between workstation, stove and fridge.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation per HACCP.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation in prep and serving areas per ServSafe requirements.
• Assist coworkers to meet service standards and cash control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
