Job summary

Community Council Learning Academy is seeking a Manager of School Climate and Culture to foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. You will oversee behavior systems, incident management, and staff supervision, driving restorative practices and trauma-informed approaches.

Collaborating with counselors, deans, and parents, you will monitor climate data, report trends, and support school-wide PBIS initiatives, aiming for consistency and accountability across the campus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor incident reports for trends & ensure follow-up.

  • Coordinate bus behavior, monitor reports, and inform families.
  • Manage PBIS system and school-wide leveling.
  • Weekly monitoring of behavior data using Kickboard.
  • Generate reports identifying trends in behavior and climate.
  • Use data to guide leadership decisions and interventions.
  • Maintain attendance records per PA regulations.
  • Supervise climate staff and conduct regular check-ins.
  • Provide coaching and training on behavior management.
  • Adhere to policies on employee conduct.
  • Provide trainings for team members.
  • Onboard new direct reports.
  • Cover when team members call out.
  • Lead climate initiatives and culture-building activities.
  • Promote positive reinforcement and accountability.
  • Serve as liaison between students, families, and staff.
  • Work with counselors and special ed teams to align support.
  • Communicate behavior expectations to parents.
  • Monitor school operations in absence of admin.
  • Attend leadership meetings and report climate metrics.
  • Support meetings on student data.
  • Maintain required documentation (attendance, letters).
  • Be on call for transportation issues.
  • Manage transportation changes and meetings.
  • Review and update student code of conduct.

Community Council Learning Academy is a small boutique academic non profit school. It has a very small school population of about 60 students with classroom sizes totaling no more than 8 students per grade.

Job Summary

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager of School Climate and Culture is responsible for fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment by overseeing student behavior systems, incident management, staff supervision, and culture-building initiatives. This position plays a central role in ensuring consistency in behavior expectations, monitoring climate data, and implementing school-wide strategies to support a safe and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Behavior & Incident Management
  • Oversee all behavior-related incidents and ensure accurate and timely entry of incidents, suspensions, and interventions into PowerSchool.
  • Monitor and review incident reports for trends and ensure proper follow-up and documentation.
  • Collaborate with administrators and support teams to ensure restorative practices and interventions are applied where appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage bus behavior, including monitoring reports, responding to infractions, and communicating with transportation staff and families as needed.
  • Manage/monitor school wide leveling and system and PBIS system.
Data Monitoring & Reporting
  • Weekly monitoring of school-wide behavior data using Kickboard or other designated platforms; ensure staff are consistently inputting data.
  • Generate regular reports to identify trends in student behavior, climate concerns, and disciplinary actions.
  • Use data to guide decisions and recommend interventions or support strategies to leadership and staff.
  • Maintain and manage student attendance in accordance to PA state regulations.
Supervision & Staff Support
  • Provide direct supervision and support to designated climate staff, including behavior support personnel, hall monitors, or deans.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and performance evaluations with direct reports.
  • Provide coaching, modeling, and ongoing training on behavior management strategies, restorative practices, and trauma-informed approaches. Community Council Learning Academy
  • Adhere to all of CCHS and CCLA's policies regarding employee code of conduct.
  • Provide required and needed trainings for team members (one to ones, behavior health workers)
  • Responsible for onboarding of direct reports.
  • Provide and or identify coverage when direct reports call out.
Climate & Culture Initiatives
  • Lead school-wide climate initiatives such as PBIS, school assemblies, incentive programs, and culture-building activities.
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to promote positive behavior reinforcement systems and develop a culture of accountability and respect.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, families, and staff to address climate concerns proactively and constructively.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with school counselors, social workers, and special education teams to align behavioral support with student needs.
  • Communicate behavior expectations, trends, and concerns with parents/guardians as needed.
Administrative
  • Confidently monitor and manage the operations of the school in the absence of upper management.
  • Participate in school leadership meetings and provide updates on climate and culture metrics.
  • Providing support in legal meetings pertaining to students' data.
  • Ensure sufficient documentation (attendance, suspensions letters, exclusion letters) is completed and provided to necessary parties when needed.
  • On call for transportation issues when they arise.
  • Managing transportation changes and scheduling meetings.
  • Review of the student code of conduct and make necessary updates as needed.
