Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at K-12 and higher education campuses. This role welcomes applicants with limited experience and provides on-the-job training.

You will clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas, follow safety procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment, maintain trash and recycling, and collaborate with staff to keep facilities safe and inviting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, mop floors, remove debris and clean spills in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles and empty as needed; manage recycling.
• Follow safety procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or supply needs.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers and supervisors.
