Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 or higher education campus. You will clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas, following safety and product procedures to preserve a healthy learning environment.

This role welcomes entry-level candidates with on-the-job training. You’ll join a team that supports safety, efficiency, and quality standards while serving students and staff in a fast-paced school

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• One year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, and restrooms.
• Sweep, mop floors, remove debris, and handle spills.
• Empty trash and maintain recycling in designated areas.
• Follow safety procedures for cleaners and equipment.
• Report maintenance needs to the lead cleaner or supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of desks, furniture, windows, and fixtures.
• Communicate effectively with staff and clients.
• Assist with seasonal outdoor tasks as needed.
