Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a reliable School Caretaker to join our primary school team on a full-time, long-term basis. You will maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors, and take pride in keeping the site well presented.

The ideal candidate will have practical maintenance skills, be punctual, and able to work independently while liaising with contractors and school colleagues to support day-to-day operations.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and proactive Caretaker to join our school team on a full-time, long-term basis.

The successful candidate will help ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained, providing a welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• General maintenance and upkeep of the school premises and grounds

• Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks

• Ensuring the site is clean, safe and secure

• Opening and closing the school premises

• Monitoring and reporting any maintenance or health & safety issues

• Liaising with contractors and external services when required

• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school site

• Carrying out other caretaking duties as required

The Ideal Candidate

• Reliable, responsible and punctual

• Practical and confident carrying out general maintenance

• Able to work independently and use initiative

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience would be desirable

• Experience working in a school or similar environment would be an advantage
