Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at K-12 or college campuses. This role involves cleaning classrooms, halls, restrooms, and common areas to maintain a safe, clean environment.

No high school diploma required; on‑the‑job training provided. 18+ with a customer‑service mindset is a plus; prior cleaning or janitorial experience is welcome but not required. ABM emphasizes a military and veteran friendly environment.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
Prior customer service experience preferred.
One year of prior similar work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices.
Sweep, mop floors, remove debris and clean spills in designated areas.
Empty trash receptacles and manage recycling.
Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment.
Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
Maintain communication with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, and supervisors.
Clean interior windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
Move furniture and equipment to access areas for cleaning.
