Job summary

Mid-Del Public Schools is seeking a Cafeteria Assistant to join the kitchen team. You will assist with preparing and serving meals for students, follow program rules, and support daily kitchen operations in the Child Nutrition department.

Responsibilities include following schedules, performing cleaning, cashiering and dish duties, complying with all district cash controls, and working collaboratively with staff, students and parents to provide safe, quality meals.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Foodservice related experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows time, task, and rotation schedules assigned by the supervisor.
• Performs cleaning, serving, cashiering, and dish room duties as assigned.
• Assists co-workers and supervisor if and when needed.
• Works cooperatively with all staff members of the Child Nutrition Department, Administration Office, District staff, students, parents and general public.
• Follow all Child Nutrition/District cash control procedures.
• Follows production menus and recipes to prepare quality products and control food cost.
• Ensures compliance with all Child Nutrition Department, District, local, state, and federal requirements, policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
• Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
