Jefferson Parish Schools is seeking a Level 2 Cafeteria Manager for Alexander Elementary in Kenner, Louisiana. The role oversees the food service operation at administration buildings, including meal service and catering functions.

You will report to the Director of Food Services, supervise staff, develop menus, manage inventory, pricing, and safety standards, and ensure timely meal delivery across campuses. Opportunity to implement improvements in kitchen operations and training.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in Food service.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in catering operations with strong creativity and food presentation skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making.
• Collaborative management style with ability to work with diverse teams.
• Professionalism and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Flexibility with hours based on scheduled events.

Responsibilities

• Works cooperatively with school administration to provide meal service and catered functions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Develops recipes and menus used in the cafeteria and catering functions.
• Provides input into pricing of all cafeteria and catering programs.
• Places orders for food and receives, dates, and stores deliveries of all products used in the food service.
• Takes physical inventory of all food and supplies.
• Calculates amounts of food used in meal preparation and issues to production.
• Monitors food production for quality and quantity for each meal.
• Develops employee production and cleaning schedules and monitors performance.
• Provides new employee orientation and on-the-job training.
• Identifies the need for equipment repair or replacement and notifies the appropriate personnel.
• Conducts financial transactions for meal payments including handling cash or accounting via POS.
• Interacts with administration regarding questions and complaints.
• Monitors employee performance and conducts evaluations with constructive feedback.
• Maintains safe working conditions and sanitation standards in food preparation and serving.
