Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and computer software for inventory and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cafeteria Manager in managing daily cafeteria operations, including food preparation, serving, and cleanup.
• Supervise and train cafeteria staff, ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Schedule staff shifts and manage staffing levels to meet operational needs.
• Oversee and participate in the preparation and cooking of meals according to recipes and menu plans.
• Ensure food is served in an appealing and timely manner with proper portion control.
• Assist with menu planning and recipe development as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Manage and oversee cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, and storing food and supplies; monitor inventory levels and waste.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and waste.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and meal count documentation; handle inquiries and issues from students and staff.
• Assist with budgeting and financial management tasks, such as tracking expenditures and meal payments.
• Train new staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
