Job summary

Williamsburg James City School District Child Nutrition Services in Williamsburg, VA seeks a part-time Cafeteria Worker to assist the Cafeteria Manager in preparing nutritious meals for students and staff. Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with students and school staff.
• Must possess a valid food handler’s card from local health department.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds daily for short periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or cooks proteins, grains, vegetables, and other food items as directed by the Cafeteria Manager.
• Sets up serving line including the steam tables and keeps lines stocked with food.
• Serves designated portions of food with proper portion control.
• Assists in cleaning cafeteria and maintains sanitation and safety standards.
• Operates in a cash register and records reimbursable meals per federal guidelines.
