Job summary

nsfm is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals in a friendly, efficient cafeteria environment for our school program in New Jersey. You will assist in meal prep, setup, service, and clean-up while maintaining accurate paperwork and POS tasks as needed.

As a team player, you will support the Kitchen Manager, follow instructions, and ensure a positive customer experience for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Background check and fingerprinting required to work in NJ schools.
• Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and positive attitude required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to interact with customers and Nutri-Serve staff.
• Knowledge of food preparation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and cafeteria setup.
• Check daily prep assignments with Kitchen Manager.
• Set up menus, napkins, utensils, and lunch trays.
• Serve nutritious meals to students in a friendly manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria and serving lines.
• Handle daily payment records and POS tasks as needed.
• Complete daily and monthly reports from POS.
• Assist with inventory and ordering processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
