Job summary

nsfm is hiring a Food Service Worker in New Jersey to prepare and serve nutritious meals in a friendly, efficient cafeteria environment, while maintaining accurate paperwork and sanitation.

You will assist with meal preparation, menu setup, POS transactions, inventory, and customer service, rotating shifts as directed by the Food Service Director.

A background check is required; prior food service experience is helpful; strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass state background check and fingerprinting to work in NJ schools.
• Previous experience in food service preferred but not required.
• Customer-service oriented with positive attitude.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Good interpersonal skills with Nutri-Serve staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and cafeteria setup.
• Check with Kitchen Manager for daily prep assignments.
• Assist in daily menus preparation.
• Set up napkins, serving utensils, trays and condiments.
• Serve nutritious meals to students in a friendly manner.
• Maintain clean serving lines and perform daily housekeeping.
• Input daily sales and prepayments; post deposits.
• Assist with inventorying and order forms daily.
• Communicate with parents about student accounts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
