Job summary

Chartwells K12 in Flint, MI is hiring for full‑ and part‑time Food Service Worker positions. The role performs food prep, presentation and service in a school setting, with schedules from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Prior food service experience is required and online applications are accepted only.

Pay ranges from $14.00 to $15.00 per hour, with strong emphasis on safety, sanitation and customer service. Benefits and internal referral bonus are available to associates.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
