Job summary

Chartwells K-12 is hiring for part-time Food Service Worker positions at a Portland, MI location. The role follows a school schedule with Monday–Friday hours that may vary. Prior food service experience is preferred, and training is offered.

Pay ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour with internal referral bonuses. Responsibilities include food prep, serving customers, maintaining safety and sanitation, and handling supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality and portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with service standards, inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
