Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District seeks staff to assist in food preparation and cashier duties in the cafeteria, following safety and district procedures. Training will cover routine food handling, equipment operation, and service line responsibilities while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.

The role requires the ability to read and follow directions in English, a Food Handler’s Card or the ability to obtain one within 30 days, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed

Qualifications

• Possess current Food Handler’s Card or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment with the district.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Valid Texas/New Mexico driver’s license/ID card; subject to district policies; insurable by district auto liability carrier.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the food preparation and cashier as assigned.
• Operate large and small kitchen equipment after receiving instructions.
• Clean and sanitize work area and kitchen equipment.
• Serve meals on service line after instructions as to portion sizes.
• Follow assigned cleaning and maintenance schedules and campus attendance procedures.
• Perform routine cleaning including floors, work area and equipment; lift and move as required.
• Demonstrate punctuality, reliability and efficiency in duties.
• Attend the work site as required to meet essential job functions.
