Job summary

Boyle County High School in Danville, Kentucky is seeking a dedicated Cook for our Food Service team. This full-time 7-hour position involves preparing, cooking and serving meals to students with speed and professionalism.

You will follow standardized recipes, maintain kitchen safety, assist with cleaning, operate the POS, and ensure reimbursable meals meet program guidelines. High school diploma or GED is required; citizenship/residency or work authorization in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as required by Kentucky law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, bake, set up and serve food items in quantity at a school site.
• Follow standardized recipes and kitchen procedures for food quality and safety, and sanitation.
• Assist with daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) register and record sales of food items to students and staff.
• Ensure that students are selecting compliant reimbursable meals.
• Provide outstanding customer service to students and staff.
• Maintain a minimum of six hours of professional training annually per the 2010 Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act.
• Fulfilling contractual obligation of days worked.
